Leaving in 3 weeks
Not much of an update today, just testing my blogging skills before we go live. If you are interested in taking your own family to live abroad, I cannot praise "The Family Sabbatical Handbook" by Elisa Bernick enough. Check this out: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1887140697/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&2115RWKAJXGN0QH98HelpfulReviews1.v=1&qid=1244894259&sr=8-1&voteError=0&2115RWKAJXGN0QH98HelpfulReviews1.s=SUCCESS
Okay, I am going to have to learn how to list an Amazon book link without the extended URL appearing in my text. Any advice about this?

Reconnaisance: Check!
We found our Oaxacan home-WHEW! Better yet, our visit to Colegio Teizcali, a local private school, was everything we'd hoped, and all three kids will definitely go there starting in August. Last but not least, our B&B had lovely views, was spacious and comfortable, the hosts were warm and knowledgeable, and we will wholeheartedly recommend it to any and all visitors!
We won't have our own photos of these places until we get back to Oaxaca in July, but here are the web links:
1) Our new house, Casa Union in San Felipe del Agua, a small town north of the city of Oaxaca:
www.casaunion.com (owned by a Mexican/German family currently living in Amsterdam).
2) The kids' new school, Colegio Teizcali, is a 15-minute walk from Casa Union! (I take it back, they don't have a web site but they sent us some photos so I'll upload those later.)
3) Casa Machaya, a B&B owned by transplated Canadians Alvin & Arlene Starkman, in the Loma Linda neighborhood in the mountains above Oaxaca City, can sleep up to 6 people in one downstairs apartment with full kitchen and sunny patio. www.oaxacadream.com check it out!
