Learning a new language
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that you can master enough Spanish to pass 2nd year-2nd semester college level quizzes and still not understand enough of the language to read the local newspaper, aimed at the literacy level of your average 6th grader?

So true! I think the only way to really learn the language is to do exactly what you all are doing. My daughter,Sarah, has spent several weeks in Peru for the past 2 summers. That improved her comprehension dramatically. I love reading your blog! It's all so interesting. Keep posting!
