we were somewhat underwhelmed by our visit to El Tule today, a large cypress described as "one of the largest in Latin America" and also as "15 stories high." I drove around and around the very small town, within sight of the top of this particular tree, not believing it could really be our destination. Does this look like 15 stories? Three out of three Waits Gambill children surveyed do NOT think so.
Okay, it's not the best photo for judging, either. Just take our word for it. Or come and visit, since now we know how to take you there!
